Safe Haven Ministries uses ground work exercises with horses to help children develop emotional and spiritual growth. “Ground work” involves asking a horse to perform certain behaviors without being ridden, such as maneuvering a horse through an obstacle course. These activities help individuals recognize their strengths and weaknesses, and help them find solutions to life’s challenges. They also promote experiential learning, which is learning by doing.
Horsemanship skills are not necessary for participation.
At least two adults are always present during sessions to promote safety.
Safe Haven Ministries, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization committed to providing these services free of charge. Your donations help make this possible.
